Douarnenez (and Gull interview)

I was privileged to help out on the DCA at the Douarnenez Fête Maritimes. This a wonderful four day gathering of traditional wooden boats with lots of onshore activities and music after six. The 2024 festival was the 18th to 21st of July.

Lots of wonderful traditional boats

We had a stand with a Scamp on shore and my Gull and three others on the dock below.

For me chatting about boats and dinghy cruising is a pleasure and I had a fantastic time manning the stand.

The Gull set up for the Fête

We sailed the boat over from launching at Tréboul and then also on Friday afternoon. The sail on Friday was so special, the bay was full of traditional boats and we sailed as close as we could to drink in their splendour.

I also met up with Flo Flo from Puffins Trek, she arranges dinghy cruises in France and imports dinghies, including Gulls, for people to cruise in. I was rather shocked when she asked to interview me and then actually turned up the next day to do the interview.
