it’s an every changing challenge to store my oars on the Gull. I have long 2.8m oars as I use them frequently and I want something powerful and efficient. I have tried every possible position. I have different modes, one ready to use when entering / leaving harbour and others for at sea allowing sitting on the gunwale.
I have tried other solutions with the oars over the stern but this results in the main sheet tying nice knots around the blades.
Below is on version of Harbour Mode, the handle end is through a loop of Dynema attached to the shrouds. Hose pipe keeps the loop open. The loom is in the rowlock. The oar is pushed forward to stop main sheet tangling
This sea mode, the oar blade just tucked into the hull. This allows sitting on the Gunwale
The next is a variation on the Sea Mode. I have sailed like this in some very fruity conditions and it works fine. The leeward oar occasionally dips in the water but is fine

A good solution to an awkward problem I assume you do not have a problem with jib sheets snagging the oars? I have tried lashing to the shrouds, maybe you have too; not ideal.

Occasionally I let the jib out too far and the foot falls down below the oar handle and I can’t pull the jib in – rather not be able to pull the jib in than let the main out which happens with oars aft
I think it depends on how long your oars are to how effective this technique is
