Boat House Bay

As I explore the Tamar and it’s tributes I will add places I have spent the night

Warning: I did fine on this particular night, the mud of the Tamar et al is very changeable – this should not be considered a recommendation, personal research and good seamanship are essential

Location

River Tavey, South side of the River, about quarter of a mile from the Bridge. There is a boathouse on the North side of the bay. I spent the night about 100 ft from the South bank of the bay

The location on Navionics

50°26.023’N  4°10.623’W

Ground, very soft mud

Note the rivulet hence my location – lots of nice flat mud

Landing, the boat house is part of Warleigh house, the pile of  Robert Kilroy-Silk. Where it would have been possible to land there were signs I suspect it was ‘off my land’ rather than ‘visitors welcome’

Shelter, it was a calm night but it was in sheltered from the East to South

Not a bad way to end the day
